Ellie McFarland, LPCMH, CCTP, NCC

Biography

Ellie earned her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Goldey-Beacom College in 2023 and is a Licensed Professional Counselor of Mental Health. With over a decade of experience, she has worked across diverse settings, including inpatient and outpatient care, higher-level community programs, forensic counseling, and corrections.
Specializing in trauma, Ellie is a Certified Trauma Professional and brings advanced training to her work. She also provides support in areas such as art therapy, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), addictions and substance use, anxiety, depression, and family counseling. Her extensive experience includes working with adults, adolescents, and children navigating complex trauma, ADHD, life transitions, anger, PTSD, and co-occurring disorders.
Ellie’s therapeutic approach is trauma-informed and person-centered. She integrates Humanistic, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Art and Music Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness practices. By tailoring interventions to each client’s unique needs, she fosters self-awareness, healing, and resilience.
At the core of Ellie’s philosophy is a belief in collaborative and holistic care. She empowers clients to take an active role in their healing journey, reminding them:
"Mental health problems don’t define who you are. They are something you experience. You walk in the rain and you feel the rain, but, importantly, YOU ARE NOT THE RAIN."
